How much does a suspension repair cost?

Your car suspension repair could be necessary for a range of reasons which makes quoting a precise number difficult. Suspension problems come in a range of different issues and some suspension parts are cheaper to repair than others. Generally speaking, if the shock absorbers are worn and need to be replaced then you’re looking at a starting cost of about $150.00 which could increase to over $500.00 depending on what needs to be replaced and whether there are any other issues that need taking care of as well. Some luxury brand cars are fitted with electronically controlled shock absorbers and the replacement cost for some of these types of parts can quickly exceed $1,000.00.

Other issues may include the replacement of other steering components or things like suspension bushes. To have the suspension bush replaced you could be looking at a cost of $100.00 ranging up to $350.00, depending on the location of the auto suspension repair and how long it takes the mechanic to gain suitable access.

Fortunately, your Lube Mobile mechanic will be a vehicle suspension specialist familiar with the suspension system of the make and model of your car and therefore able and ready to undertake a wide range of service needs and repairs. They will arrive with a car suspension repair service kit which is fully equipped with everything they need to attend to things like an air suspension leak repair, fix leaking oil from your suspension, complete your repair with a wheel alignment or anything else that is required to get your vehicle back on the road sooner rather than later. Signs that indicate a possible problem with your vehicle suspension

The suspension is a vehicle is designed to provide the driver and passengers with a comfortable road journey. The key component of suspension systems is the spring that is designed to take the knocks and bumps of driving and disperse that energy so that the vehicle’s occupants maintain a comfortable riding experience and so that the vehicle is able to grip the road safely to navigate turns and speed.

Signs that your vehicle may need a suspension repair, or a suspension service include:

  • Discomfort when riding over bumps on the road. This might also include an unnatural noise or squeak from the undercarriage of your car, or it may be a harder or softer ride that you’re used to. Often excessive bouncing while you’re driving your vehicle will indicate a problem too.
  • Difficulty with the navigation of corners. If there is a problem with your suspension system, then you will no doubt notice excessive body roll through corners while you’re driving. This makes it more difficult to maintain grip on the road and will slow you down considerably through corners. It will also heavily affect your ability to respond to emergency situations on the road.
  • Tyre wear. If your vehicle is going through tyres more often than it should, this may also indicate the need for a suspension service or suspension repair.
  • Uneven height. If your car looks uneven then that’s a sure sign that there is a suspension repair required.

When you book in your suspension repair or your suspension service with a Lube Mobile mobile mechanic, your specialist technician will undertake a full vehicle and engine inspection in order to pinpoint where the problem is occurring. They may ask you questions about how the ride feels when you are driving, whether you have experienced any issues with the brakes or sudden manoeuvrers like emergency braking or turning while you’re out on the road. They may even request to road test the vehicle to ascertain whether there are any abnormal sounds which may help them locate the precise location of the problem.

Once your suspension repair or your suspension service has been completed, your fully qualified mechanic will road test the repairs to ensure everything is in working order and likely also complete a wheel alignment to ensure that the wheels are aligned as per the factory’s specifications. Book your suspension repair online today.
