Lube Mobile Hygiene Practices When Servicing Customers Vehicles

There is evidence that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads from person to person, some reports suggest the virus can last for several days on surfaces including plastics found in vehicles.


Good hygiene can prevent infection from coronavirus as well as the common cold and flu.


With this in mind we wish to share with you what practices Lube Mobile have put in place to ensure the safety of our Customers and of our staff.


Prior to working inside a vehicle, the Lube Mobile technician will use the following procedure;


  1. The technician will check with you whether you have been overseas and ordered to comply with a self-isolation order.

  2. Disinfect car. 

  3. Disinfect hands. 

  4. Where possible avoid switching on HAVAC system (air conditioning / heater control). 


Disinfect Car

  1. Disinfect outside door handle prior to entering the vehicle. 

  2. Spray or wipe all relevant areas inside the vehicle. 

  3. Allow disinfectant to sit for up to 10mins to dry by airing out the vehicle. 

  4. Conduct works inside the vehicle.

  5. When the work is finished we will give the vehicle a final spray or wipe prior to returning the vehicle to you (including outside door handle). 


Parts of the Vehicle to be Disinfected

  1. Door handle (outside first then inside). 

  2. Steering wheel. 

  3. Radio and other control buttons and indicators. 

  4. Seat belt. 

  5. Any other areas we may need to touch when working inside the vehicle (i.e. glove box handles, drink holders, dashboard, hand brake and gears etc.) 


Disinfect Hands

  1. We will use hand sanitiser or washing of hands prior to entering the vehicle. 

  2. After completing the work we will Sanitise our hands thoroughly and close the door to the vehicle. 


Payment and Invoicing

  1. No Cash payments. Our strong preference is payment by card via the tap and go facility. 

  2. Printing of invoices and quotes will cease and we will instead email them to you.

What is included in BMW service?

If you need a BMW warranty service, then we’ll need to follow the guide as presented in your logbook. This will maintain your warranty and make sure that you are covered if anything goes wrong with the vehicle outside of standard maintenance issues. You can check your logbook at any time and it will list what your service requires.

After your car has passed the warranty period, this can be anything from five to seven years, we’d recommend having the vehicle serviced at least once per year, with major services every three years. Standard annual service with Lube Mobile includes:

  • Change of engine oil and filter

  • An under-bonnet check and top-up

  • A brake and safety inspection

  • A check of the cooling and charging systems

How much does a BMW service cost?

At Lube Mobile when you book in for a BMW service, we’ll provide you with a cost upfront. This means that you won't be surprised when we finish the service. If you’re getting a warranty service then the cost will be controlled by what model you have and what is required to be completed. For most other services it will depend on what sized service you are booked in for, but you’ll be given a cost before you book in as well.

The costs associated with our service can depend on the model of your car, this means that service for a BMW with a smaller engine will generally cost less than one with a larger engine, usually because it will take fewer lubricants and time. How long does a BMW service take?

Most of the services booked in with Lube Mobile will take around two (2) hours to complete. With Lube Mobile, once we are finished, you’ll get the car back immediately. You won’t need to take your car to a dealership for servicing or to any other workshop. If you get the car serviced while you’re at work you won’t miss your car at all!

Having Lube Mobile take care of your BMW service is the most convenient way to have your car serviced. Many workshops will ask you to drop the car off in the morning and then pick it up in the afternoon, which means that you need to go the entire day without a vehicle. However, with Lube Mobile, because we come to you, you won’t need to think about how you're going to get your car to us and then arrange for transportation back home or to work. We prefer to get stuck in and have the job completed fast, so you get your car returned as quickly as possible.

How to get BMW service history?

At Lube Mobile we can keep track of all your car services, this is especially great if you no longer have your logbooks, or your car is older than the logbook allows you to fill out (many won't go beyond 200,000km). You can call Lube Mobile if you need a record of your service history and we can provide that for you.

If you are buying a second hand BMW, you can check the logbook for the service history. If it does not have one, you can try calling a BMW service line, as if the car has been serviced at a dealership, they may have a record of it. Alternatively, you can check for a next service sticker on the inside of the windscreen and call the number on that. But if the car has not been taken to the same mechanic, they may not have a record of the service history.
