Lube Mobile Hygiene Practices When Servicing Customers Vehicles

There is evidence that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads from person to person, some reports suggest the virus can last for several days on surfaces including plastics found in vehicles.

Good hygiene can prevent infection from coronavirus as well as the common cold and flu.

With this in mind we wish to share with you what practices Lube Mobile have put in place to ensure the safety of our Customers and of our staff.

Prior to working inside a vehicle, the Lube Mobile technician will use the following procedure;

  1. The technician will check with you whether you have been overseas and ordered to comply with a self-isolation order.

  2. Disinfect car.

  3. Disinfect hands.

  4. Where possible avoid switching on HAVAC system (air conditioning / heater control).

Disinfect Car

  1. Disinfect outside door handle prior to entering the vehicle.

  2. Spray or wipe all relevant areas inside the vehicle.

  3. Allow disinfectant to sit for up to 10mins to dry by airing out the vehicle.

  4. Conduct works inside the vehicle.

  5. When the work is finished we will give the vehicle a final spray or wipe prior to returning the vehicle to you (including outside door handle).

Parts of the Vehicle to be Disinfected

  1. Door handle (outside first then inside).

  2. Steering wheel.

  3. Radio and other control buttons and indicators.

  4. Seat belt.

  5. Any other areas we may need to touch when working inside the vehicle (i.e. glove box handles, drink holders, dashboard, hand brake and gears etc.)

Disinfect Hands

  1. We will use hand sanitiser or washing of hands prior to entering the vehicle.

  2. After completing the work we will Sanitise our hands thoroughly and close the door to the vehicle.

Payment and Invoicing

  1. No Cash payments. Our strong preference is payment by card via the tap and go facility.

  2. Printing of invoices and quotes will cease and we will instead email them to you.

Should you have any queries regarding our Coronavirus (Covid-19) procedures, or any other matter please do not hesitate in contacting us on 13 30 32.

How long does Subaru service take?

For a Subaru service, you should plan to be without your car for around two hours. However, if you take your car to a workshop, general mechanic, or the dealership, you will most likely be without your car for the entire day. At Lube Mobile, we will only keep your vehicle for as long as the service takes. This is a part of the convenient service that you’ll get from Lube Mobile.

If you have other problems with your vehicle that is to be repaired at the same time as your service, that may add to the overall time. Provided we know what issues are happening with the car we can give you an estimate on time before we arrive. When you use Lube Mobile you don’t need to worry about picking your car up at a certain time.

How much does Subaru service cost?

At the time of booking in for your Subaru service, we can tell you how much it will cost. If your car is out of warranty and you’re after a standard annual service, these are easy to calculate. If you’re getting a warranty service, we can offer you a price that is comparable to your Subaru dealership service, especially when you factor in the convenience of having Lube Mobile visit your home to look after your car.

When a car is under warranty, we’ll need to follow the service guide in the logbook. This is to make sure that you can keep your warranty valid. Although many cars are sold with Subaru fixed price servicing, sometimes it can be cheaper to take your car to another workshop. To find out if we can offer a cheaper price, we’d recommend giving Lube Mobile a call on 13 30 32, and we’ll offer you a price for the service you need.

Having a clear idea of how much a Subaru service will cost gives you the information you need to make an informed decision on where you get your car serviced. Sometimes returning your car to the dealership for a service is time-consuming and can add to the overall costs, especially if you need to arrange for transport to and from the workshop.

How often should a Subaru be serviced?

The exact time between getting your Subaru service all depends on the age of the car. For a vehicle that is still under warranty, you need to follow the guidelines as set out in the car’s logbook. All the services completed will have one of the pages filled out and then signed by the mechanic that completed it. Most of these services will follow a pattern, usually every 5,000 - 20,000km, for ease of use you can check your logbook at any time. Keeping the book updated is best for maintaining your warranty.

For all other vehicles, Lube Mobile recommends having your car serviced at least once per year, which equates to once every 15,000-20,000km. However, for every third year you should book in for our three-yearly service, and then every six years you should book it for a major service. This staggered approach is because many of the lubricants in the car will wear and need to be replaced at different rates. If it has been a long time between services, we’d recommend booking for a major service to get it back on track.

Does Subaru have capped price servicing?

Many new cars are sold with Subaru capped price servicing. However, this is usually determined at the time of purchase and is often used as a negotiation tool. While you don’t need to take your vehicle back to the dealership to keep your warranty, the sales people will offer capped pricing on the service. Although sometimes this may only cover the service and not parts used. It is best to check the costs involved and compare prices with other mechanics, just to be certain that you are getting the best deal. At Lube Mobile, all of our quotes include all parts and lubricants used. You can call us on 13 30 32 to get an over the phone quote on your Subaru service.
