Lube Mobile Hygiene Practices When Servicing Customers Vehicles

There is evidence that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads from person to person, some reports suggest the virus can last for several days on surfaces including plastics found in vehicles.

Good hygiene can prevent infection from coronavirus as well as the common cold and flu.

With this in mind we wish to share with you what practices Lube Mobile have put in place to ensure the safety of our Customers and of our staff.

Prior to working inside a vehicle, the Lube Mobile technician will use the following procedure;

  1. The technician will check with you whether you have been overseas and ordered to comply with a self-isolation order.

  2. Disinfect car.

  3. Disinfect hands.

  4. Where possible avoid switching on HAVAC system (air conditioning / heater control).

Disinfect Car

  1. Disinfect outside door handle prior to entering the vehicle.

  2. Spray or wipe all relevant areas inside the vehicle.

  3. Allow disinfectant to sit for up to 10mins to dry by airing out the vehicle.

  4. Conduct works inside the vehicle.

  5. When the work is finished we will give the vehicle a final spray or wipe prior to returning the vehicle to you (including outside door handle).

Parts of the Vehicle to be Disinfected

Having a mobile tyre service come to you is the most convenient method to have your tyres replaced. This is because you don’t need to worry about getting your car into a workshop and waiting around for it to be finished or going back home (or to work) and then returning later that day to collect your car. At Lube Mobile, all we need is a place to work safely around your vehicle, you don’t even need to be nearby!

Most tyre services take about two (2) hours to complete. When your tyre service is finished, you’ll have the opportunity to talk with your mechanic. At this time, they’ll let you know of any safety issues they may have uncovered during the service. They’ll show you any problems and discuss with you what may need to be repaired. Any car repairs can usually be completed when your next regular scheduled car service is due unless it’s a safety issue that needs to be completed immediately.

How long do Firestone tyres last?

Firestone tyres (and all other brands) have a limited life, and this is not always measured in how much tread they have remaining. After ten years from the manufacture date, the materials used to make standard road tyres begin to degrade and are no longer considered to be roadworthy. While aged tyres are usually only found on caravans, trailers, and show vehicles, it is important to know, especially if you're buying any second-hand tyres.

For a tyre that is in regular road use, you can expect to get anywhere from 30,000km to 50,000km out of a set. There are many reasons that your tyres may not last as long as they should and of these, incorrect tyre pressure and poor wheel alignment are the most common.

For the best tyre performance, you should be checking the tyre pressure at least once per month, although fortnightly is best. You can find free air available at most service stations and these are easily accessible. Many cars will have a sticker on the inside of the driver’s door that will tell you exactly what tyre pressure is required. Take regular notes of the pressure in your tyres and if you find they are regularly low, then you may have a slow leak puncture; to take care of this you can book in for a flat tyre service from Lube Mobile.

When you're checking your tyre pressures you can perform a quick tread inspection. In tyres that have correct wheel alignment, your tread should be wearing in an even manner. If you find that your tyres are wearing more on the outside or inside of the tread then your car may be overdue for a wheel alignment. At Lube Mobile, we recommend having a wheel alignment completed on your car at least once every twelve months.
