Lube Mobile Hygiene Practices When Servicing Customers Vehicles

There is evidence that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads from person to person, some reports suggest the virus can last for several days on surfaces including plastics found in vehicles.

Good hygiene can prevent infection from coronavirus as well as the common cold and flu.

With this in mind we wish to share with you what practices Lube Mobile have put in place to ensure the safety of our Customers and of our staff.

Prior to working inside a vehicle, the Lube Mobile technician will use the following procedure;

  1. The technician will check with you whether you have been overseas and ordered to comply with a self-isolation order.

  2. Disinfect car.

  3. Disinfect hands.

  4. Where possible avoid switching on HAVAC system (air conditioning / heater control).

Disinfect Car

  1. Disinfect outside door handle prior to entering the vehicle.

  2. Spray or wipe all relevant areas inside the vehicle.

  3. Allow disinfectant to sit for up to 10mins to dry by airing out the vehicle.

  4. Conduct works inside the vehicle.

  5. When the work is finished we will give the vehicle a final spray or wipe prior to returning the vehicle to you (including outside door handle).

Parts of the Vehicle to be Disinfected

  1. Door handle (outside first then inside).

  2. Steering wheel.

  3. Radio and other control buttons and indicators.

  4. Seat belt.

  5. Any other areas we may need to touch when working inside the vehicle (i.e. glove box handles, drink holders, dashboard, hand brake and gears etc.)

Disinfect Hands

  1. We will use hand sanitiser or washing of hands prior to entering the vehicle.

  2. After completing the work we will Sanitise our hands thoroughly and close the door to the vehicle.

What tyres should I buy for my car?

The majority of drivers will choose tyres that are the same or very similar to those already in the car. If you haven’t had any problems with your tyres or are not driving on many different roads, it’s a good idea to stick to whatever brand of tyres are currently on the car; or you can choose whatever tyres are available for a speedy service.

During the booking process, you can select the particular tyres you need and we’ll provide you with an online quote for their replacement. Most brands have tyres available of varying quality, and the higher-priced the tyre the longer they’ll last, giving you more value for your money. As your local tyre shop in Canberra, we can replace and repair tyres. We have many of our mobile mechanics working all over the city and all of them are capable of attending to your vehicle no matter where it’s located.

What is included in a tyre shop service in Canberra?

At Lube Mobile, we’ll cover many items for your service and replacement. We pride ourselves on offering good quality work and keeping our working space tidy and free from any problems. We are your local tyre shop for Canberra, and we treat all vehicles in the same way, when you come to us for a service you can expect the following:

  • A tyre inspection including the spare

  • Raise the vehicle and remove all the tyres

  • Remove and replace tyres, perform wheel balancing

  • Refit the tyres, lower the car and tidy work site

  • Examine tyres, making sure all the pressures are correct

All work completed by us is covered under our 12 months (or 10,000km) workmanship guarantee. As we operate all over Australia, it doesn’t matter if you have the tyres replaced near home, or if you're on holidays in another city such as Perth, Geelong, Adelaide or anywhere else.

When we’re finished with your vehicle, we’ll return it immediately to you. At this time, you’ll have a chance to talk directly to the person that worked on your car, and you can ask any car related questions. They can show you if there were any problems and what you can do to keep your tyres lasting longer.

How long will tyres last?

All tyres have a certain lifespan, this is because they're made of different materials, softer tyres will usually have a reduced lifespan over harder ones. There are no tyre manufacturers that have better tyres, as they all make high-quality tyres and lower-priced tyres. Ideally, the best tyre for your car is those that you can afford at the time.

Regardless of the tyre make and model, tyres should all be replaced if they are older than ten years. This is because the materials used to make them will start to deteriorate and they’re not safe to drive on. Your new tyres will last anywhere from 30,000km-50,000km, however that can vary based on the type of roads you drive on, and your particular driving style.
