Lube Mobile Hygiene Practices When Servicing Customers Vehicles

There is evidence that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreads from person to person, some reports suggest the virus can last for several days on surfaces including plastics found in vehicles.

Good hygiene can prevent infection from coronavirus as well as the common cold and flu.

With this in mind we wish to share with you what practices Lube Mobile have put in place to ensure the safety of our Customers and of our staff.

Prior to working inside a vehicle, the Lube Mobile technician will use the following procedure;

  1. The technician will check with you whether you have been overseas and ordered to comply with a self-isolation order.

  2. Disinfect car.

  3. Disinfect hands.

  4. Where possible avoid switching on HAVAC system (air conditioning / heater control).

Disinfect Car

  1. Disinfect outside door handle prior to entering the vehicle.

  2. Spray or wipe all relevant areas inside the vehicle.

  3. Allow disinfectant to sit for up to 10mins to dry by airing out the vehicle.

  4. Conduct works inside the vehicle.

  5. When the work is finished we will give the vehicle a final spray or wipe prior to returning the vehicle to you (including outside door handle).

Parts of the Vehicle to be Disinfected

  1. Door handle (outside first then inside).

  2. Steering wheel.

  3. Radio and other control buttons and indicators.

  4. Seat belt.

  5. Any other areas we may need to touch when working inside the vehicle (i.e. glove box handles, drink holders, dashboard, hand brake and gears etc.)

At Lube Mobile, we are your local mobile tyre service for Sydney. We can come to your car in any region in Sydney, including the Inner West, North Shore, Western Suburbs and Eastern Suburbs. As we are a single business and not a franchise group you can book in with the same mechanic of your choice. For example, if you live in Hornsby, Bondi, or Chatswood, and you work in a different part of the city like Parramatta, or North Sydney, you can call on the same mechanic as we are not bound by a certain area. Our team of mobile mechanics can also take care of any regular car services and other car repairs as required.

As we operate all over Australia, you can call on our team if you’re travelling outside of Sydney. You’ll find our vans working in major cities such as Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. We also cover most other regions of Australia, if you're ever not sure you can enter your postcode into our online booking form and it’ll show all available drivers for that area.

Booking in for mobile tyre service in Sydney is easy through our website booking form. All we need to get you started is your postcode and the size of the tyres you need (we can show you where to find this information). Then we’ll show you a price estimate for the supply and fitting of your tyres. Next, you can choose a date and time that fits in with your schedule. After that, we’ll ask for a few details about the car including where it’ll be located, and then your booking is completed! If you’d rather speak to a real person, you can call us on 13 30 32 during business hours (7 am-7 pm) and we’ll get you booked in.

What tyres should I buy for my car?

As your mobile tyre service for Sydney, we recommend having the same brand of tyres on the front two tyres, and the same for the rear tyres. This is because these pairs of tyres work together and by having the same tread pattern, you’ll get the best performance. When you mix brands, the tyres may not work to their best abilities.

In most cases, tyres on either the front or the rear will wear at roughly the same rates. For many front-wheel-drive vehicles your better off by having the tyres with the most tread on the front. So, if you're replacing the rear tyres, moving the current front tyres to the back and installing the new tyres on the front is your best option.

Lube Mobile, as the mobile tyre service for Sydney, can supply your tyres and we’ll provide you with those that are best suited for your vehicle. We have on hand brands such as Bridgestone, Firestone, and Dayton tyres. These are the most popular tyres in Australia and have proven to be of a high standard. If you have a preference for the tyres being installed on your car, you can call our customer service team (13 30 32) and they can let you know what we have available.

What is included in a mobile tyre service?

When you book in for a mobile tyre service, Sydney residents can expect a high level of service from the team at Lube Mobile. After arriving at the time of your booking, we’ll assess the area to make sure we have enough room to work and then follow our tyre service process:

  • A general condition check of all tyres, this includes the spare tyre

  • Raise the vehicle and remove all the wheels

  • Replace tyres as required and perform a wheel balance

  • Refit the wheels and lower the vehicle

  • Check that all tyres pressures are correct

  • Tidy worksite and return keys

All our services come with a workmanship warranty as standard. This covers you for 12 months from installation. Your tyres will come with their own manufacturer's warranty, and this will cover you for any issues with the quality of your tyres.

After your service is completed, you’ll have the chance to talk directly to the person that completed the service. Our mechanic can show you any issues they came across during the service, and what may need to be checked on during your next car service.

How long will tyres last?

As the mobile tyre service for Sydney, we can recommend some processes to make your tyres last longer. There are a few different factors that contribute to a reduced lifespan of car tyres, and those that are within your control are the wheel alignment and tyre pressures. We’d recommend having your wheel alignment checked at least once a year. You can check the wear pattern on your tyres to see if your alignment is out, but having professional take care of it is usually best.

The tyre pressures should be checked at least once per month, although doing it fortnightly is considered best practise. Most service stations in Australia offer free air for your tyres, and you can use this to check your tyre pressures. You can check the tyre pressure sticker on the inside of the driver's door to see what your pressure should be. If you notice that the pressure is consistently low, you may leak your tyres, to fix that you can book in for a flat tyre service with Lube Mobile.
